Elizabeth Beato

Research Assistant, Hawaiʻi

Elizabeth joined PacWhale Eco-Adventures in 2016 as a marine naturalist and began working for Pacific Whale Foundation in 2021. As a Research Assistant, Elizabeth supports our long-term humpback whale and dolphin research in Hawaiʻi by assisting with fieldwork and photo-ID processing. She previously worked as a research assistant at Allied Whale, contributing to their North Atlantic humpback whale, North Atlantic fin whale, and Antarctic humpback whale catalogs. Elizabeth has worked as a marine naturalist in Maui since 2016 and worked seasonally for the Research Program in the 2017-2019 whale seasons. In 2021, Elizabeth was hired into a full-time Research Assistant position.

Memberships and affiliations:

Elizabeth currently serves as a level 1 member of NOAA’s Hawaiian Islands Large Whale Entanglement Response team.
