Hernan Orellana-Vasquez
Research Assistant, Ecuador
Hernan joined Pacific Whale Foundation in 2023. He is an ecologist with experience in terrestrial, marine and aquatic ecosystems. Hernan has a Bachelor’s degree in biological and environmental sciences from Universidad Central del Ecuador. He began as a volunteer for PWF during the 2018 and 2019 whale seasons in Puerto Lopez, Ecuador and assisted with acoustic research on humpback whale song. As a research assistant in Ecuador, he assists with fieldwork and data processing for whale and dolphin surveys.
